Emma: I started this blog in 2017 as part of a global online film course. Each week I created a short film, inspired by a prompt, which was critiqued by my peers. Throughout the course I focused predominantly on the cinematography challenges (I film with my iPhone — in my earlier films I used the iPhone 6S, and in more recent ones I have used an iPhone X). Examples of the assignments are recreating a scene from a movie (Put the Sword Down), noir (Things that go Bump), and interviewing another filmmaker. My blog posts during the course feature the film I created that week, insight into the process of making it and any challenges I encountered, and a response to the feedback I had received that week. Over time I have also posted films that I had made before the course: including my first film and baking videos from French classes. I also continue to update this blog as I finish films.
