Bunnyhood (Mansi Maheshwari) – Selected for Cannes

A HORROR FILM WITH BUNNIES (BASED ON A TRUE STORY)

The NFTS grad animation films finish between January to February each year; however, the production management course ends in the September before. Our tutor thus gave us the opportunity to work as Production Assistants on the 2022/23 grad animation projects to fill in for the group of PMs that had just graduated. Along with another Production Assistant, I was placed on 'Bunnyhood' from October 2023 to February 2024.  

The production was well on its way when we joined. I assisted the Director Mansi and Producer Ashionye (an amazing team) by purchasing supplies, processing expenses, and updating the cost book. It was easy work that I could do quickly, but it was still a great chance to meet a wonderful team and learn about hand drawn animation. 

The finished film is so cool – I got to go the graduate showcase at the BFI in February to see the finished product. It has now begun its festival circuit and I'm incredibly excited to see where it goes!

UPDATE: Bunnyhood has been selected for Cannes in the La Cinéf category and Animafest Zagreb!!
