Process Diary: Final Project Completed

WEEK 13 OF GOA FILMMAKING:
THE LAST WEEK OF THE COURSE

Here is my final film for this class. I will definitely continue making films and posting them on this blog, but they will no longer be for GOA filmmaking.

While finishing this film, I definitely reflected upon the fact that I've learned so much over this course. I was able to take so many of the skills I learned and apply them to this final project. One example of that is sound. I've struggled to balance audio and music in previous projects, but I was able to effectively do it this time with the help of audacity. In addition, I learned that the pink wall in my room is very good for lighting. The rest of my room looks yellow through my iPhone's lens, even though the lighting seems great to my eyes.

However, I wasn't able to gather any insight on my film from my classmates this week, as my new timezone inhibited me from participating in our live critiques (the options were between two and four in the morning, and my teacher smartly decided that I should post my critiques for others in my own time).

Finally, my teacher asked us to reflect upon our experience in the course and discuss any recurring issues we had in our films over the past thirteen weeks and how we overcame the obstacle. I don't think there was a specific recurring problem I had with my filmmaking, mostly because I find myself to be a quick learner. I felt that the problem with my film/what I would fix varied with each week. However, I did notice there were a couple of times where my audience didn't feel like the music matched the film, but I went back and found a better soundtrack for those films. I suppose the lesson there is play around with multiple different songs before picking one. There were also a couple of films where I had trouble with the audio, but I've discovered that Audacity is much more helpful than Movie Maker when it comes to editing sound.

NOW I AM LEAVING TO GO WATCH STAR WARS!!! 😍❤
