Process Diary: Final Project Week 2
WEEK 12 OF GOA FILMMAKING:
-Emma
I accomplished a lot more than I thought I would this week. My plan was to do some editing, and I managed to do a lot (I cut nearly 50 minutes of footage 😀) and I
wrote a script. I'd say I'm definitely on track to comfortably finish
my film. Even though it's my personal opinion that you can never quite
finish a film since there are always things to nitpick at.
Anyway, technology is currently driving me mad as my blog won't let me upload my progress, so HERE is a link to a place that will let me upload the video 😐.
Even though I did a lot of editing this week, but I can't think of something super specific that I learned. I suppose I figured out how I want to put my film together and reinforced something that I have known for a long time but don't always do: don't procrastinate on long projects. Oh, and I guess I realized that I need more footage of London — I currently only have two shots--but it has been difficult since both my parents are working and I have to stay at home to watch my brothers and puppy. I might end up only having those two shots, though, since my mom and I are going to be out of the country for two days.
The critiques from my classmates this week reinforced the fact that I need more London footage. I also learned from them that the opening where the word "opportunities" appears in multiple different fonts is as cool as I'd hoped it would be. It was something that I just did for fun when I was editing, and then I liked it so I left it in. I've probably seen it before somewhere since it doesn't seem like a mind-blowing idea to me, but I can't think of where I would have...
Alright, I gotta go to bed now because I have to get up in four hours 😪...I'm also very jet-lagged...still...
