AQA: Questions Matter (Sunny Bahia)

TWO DAYS BEFORE MY FINALS

I got a call from Sunny (my mentor through the No Trace BAME initiative) about a branded content shoot for AQA. The shoot was scheduled mere days before my finals, but I was keen to get some work experience (and money). I also acknowledged that if I wasn't prepared for my finals by the filming dates, the two days wouldn't make a difference.

I was just a Runner on the production. I attended the recce at Ibstock Place School in Roehampton, where I acted as a stand-in and made notes. On the two filming days I did general runner tasks: I set up the craft table, did the coffee and lunch runs (the food was very good), and was a stand-in / extra. It was great experience and the team was very nice.

In between tasks I revised for one of my papers – this was the paper I performed best in! Clearly revising on set is a good study tactic.

Note: stills are taken from the finished film (Cinematographer: Andrew Mickleburgh).
