THE AFTERMATH

Rosie, a wonderful actor I've worked with on both 'CTRL +Z' and 'Playing with Fire', reached out about a project she was interested in directing. The film follows the moments immediately after the protagonist is sexually assaulted. Due to the nature of the subject matter, she wanted to keep the crew very minimal and asked me to be the Sound Recordist.

Because of my role, I was not involved in pre-production and just attended the filming day. Rosie and the Cinematographer, Emma, devised the blocking for the scene (we filmed in Rosie's bedroom). There is no dialogue in the film; it centers around the intense emotions. The film is done in one take, which meant we had to run through it numerous times. Emma decided to use her camera instead of OUFF's pocket Blackmagic camera, as it has autofocus. Rosie's room was small, which meant we had to rehearse where I needed to move with the boom to not be caught in shot. 

There are some really great moments and I can't wait to see the final edit.
